Witches is an exciting and playful dance performance about the innermost essence of witchesThere is a strong stereotype of what witches are in children’s reality today that is linked to movies, fairy tales, Easter, pictures and books. But a witch can be so much more – for example in history the hunt for witches came thru because some people saw women with knowledge as something dangerous. The highly acclaimed choreographer Mari Carrasco and the multi award winning composer Mikael Karlsson draws inspiration from various stories about witches in an attempt to get closer to its innermost essence. It is a witch who does as she pleases, who has a beautiful exterior and a secret interior, who tries to be normal, but who honestly has no idea what is considered normal. With this performance the audience can find inspiration to discover their own inner witch.
Welcome to a universe of playfulness and reality, lightness and darkness, curiosity and magic, where things can go up in smoke and anything is possible.
International touring
Witches is a mid-scale contemporary dance production for children between the ages 7 to 9 years, but the performance is appealing to all ages.
